Daewoo Shipbuilding and MIG Sign Two LNG Carriers

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Angelicoussis Shipping Group’s subsidiary Maran Gas Maritime Inc. (MIG) have signed a contract for the construction of two liquefied natural gas carriers.

The contract, announced today at the Korea Exchange, for two 173,000 cum LNG carriers is estimated to be worth around $414.7 million.

The vessels will be delivered by the second half of 2016.

DSME continues to lead the world’s shipbuilding industry with expertise in building LNGC. The membrane type LGN carriers that DSME builds provide superior performance, fastest speed and excellent steering at lower building and fuel costs, to their peer group.
