Havyard to design two more AHTS vessels for Grupo CBO

Havyard Design & Solutions, a ship technology company, has signed a contract for the delivery of ship design and equipment for two more AHTS vessels with the Brazilian shipping company Grupo CBO.

Havyard said on Monday that the supply agreement for the delivery of ship design and equipment for two additional vessels is valued at more than NOK 80 million ($9.25 million).

The company added that this latest contract leaned on a supply agreement contract with Grupo CBO from August 29, 2014, when Havyard Design & Solutions agreed to supply the Brazilian company with ship designs for four anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels which would be built and operated by CBO.

For Havyard, the 2014 agreement was the first design and equipment contract in the South American country, and the single biggest contract entered into by Havyard Design & Solutions with an approximate value of NOK 180 million.

For the 2014 contract, the company agreed to design four Havyard 843 vessels which have a large work deck with cranes and equipment for anchor handling, a winch configuration that enables towing and other services for floating offshore installations.

Also, the Havyard 843 was adapted to specific tender requirements from Petrobras who needed six vessels. CBO has now ordered the Havyard design for the last two vessels.

Havyard also said that the first vessel would be launched early next year.
