China’s cruise liner makes first trip to Kaohsiung

A luxury cruise liner from China made its first voyage to Kaohsiung Monday, an event expected to usher in a new era of direct scheduled cruise services between the southern Taiwanese port and China. The Cosco Star cruise liner, with 300 passengers aboard, arrived at Kaohsiung Harbor at 7 a.m. after a nearly 10-hour voyage from Xiamen in the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian.
