Korea: OceanSaver wins ballast system contract

Norwegian company OceanSaver has announced that one of South Korea’s largest shipyards has ordered ballast water management (BWM) systems for five very large crude oil carriers (VLCCs), bringing the company’s total orderbook to over NOK350 million (US$56.18 million). The agreement follows a contract with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company in China for the delivery of BWM systems for six VLCCs and another BWM system order in Korea for two high-spec Suezmax crude-oil tankers and six VLCCs at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company in China.
