SeaVsat guaruantees quality for multiple users.

SeaVsat, a leader in global wireless broadband communications via the Vsat satellite system, guarantees Quality of Service for offshore customers when multiple users are on a network at the same time but performing different actions. Quality of service (QoS) is the ability to provide different priority to different applications, users, or data flows, or to guarantee a certain level of performance to a data flow.

The SatLink product line is optimized for Internet Protocol (IP) packet-oriented communication and is a market leading DVB-RCS satellite networking system. We have the most advanced bandwidth management and QoS mechanisms tailored to the satellite networking environment.

In a maritime environment with a terminal providing internet access and communications, QoS could represent for example a required bit rate for a certain group of users. Depending on each vessel characteristics and configuration SeaVsat is able to manage the total capability distribution based on several technologies, thus maintaining maximum bandwidth efficiency. Our terminals support for VLANs, Network Address Translation
(NAT) and VPN tunneling techniques.

Whatever technology used in each vessel, SeaVsat is able to define QoS Groups each with their own bandwidth allocation and dynamic capacity sharing rules, ensuring no wasted resources and bandwidth distribution according to user needs. The objective is to design a solution which better fulfills customer requirements in terms of QoS parameters while providing maximum bandwidth efficiency.
