GL debuts Korean language corporate website

Germanischer Lloyd (GL) has for nearly 35 years used its technical expertise and knowledge to serve the Korean shipbuilding community. A recently-launched Korean language sub-site, hopes to further strengthen that connection by providing clients in Korea with the latest updates on GL’s classification and maritime services.

GL opened its first Korean office in Busan in 1977, followed by stations established in Ulsan, Geoje Island, Busan and Mokpo, branches in Daegu and Seoul. Today, a total of 149 staff members work for GL Korea, including surveyors and plan approvers, offering services focused on Ship Newbuilding, Classification, Maritime Systems and Components and Fleet in Service.

The new website serves as a platform to showcase GL’s major maritime services, such as Ship Newbuilding, Fleet Services, Maritime Systems and Components, and Maritime Solutions. The website also gives existing and potential clients convenient access to GL’s rules and guidelines, as well as a variety of GL tools designed to increase their work efficiency. Clients are also kept up to date on GL’s activities through event notifications and publications.

Alongside GL’s German, English and Chinese language websites, this new website reflects GL’s commitment to its international client base, and its recognition of the importance of its partnerships in Asia for the future of GL’s business.
