$31-M Filipino tuna plant built in PNG; shipyard to follow

Frabelle Fishing Corp, a firm which supplies tuna to processors here and in other parts of the Philippines, recently launched its $31.25-million tuna plant in Lae City, Morobe province in Papua New Guinea. The plant is the third in Papua New Guinea and the second to be built there by Filipino tuna players. The other Filipino-owned tuna cannery there is owned by the RD Group of Companies based in this city, while the third is the Malaysian-owned Besta which is into the processing of mackerel.
