China’s new port to boost Mongolian coal shipments

China’s newest port, to be built at Huludao, Liaoning Province, will support the transportation of some 50 million tonnes of coal from landlocked Mongolia, China News Daily has reported. The first phase of the project will be finished by 2012, the paper quoted Zhao Rongging as saying. Annual throughput will be increased to 230 million tonnes, Mr Zhao added.
