Lloyd’s Register’s Hellenic Advisory Committee meeting strengthens bonds between class and Greek owners

Lloyd’s Register held its most recent Hellenic Advisory Committee on November 2, 2006 in Mikrolimano, Piraeus. Some 30 key figures from the Greek shipping community attended, representing more than 34.5 million gross tons and 650 vessels.

The Lloyd’s Register Hellenic Advisory Committee is chaired by Captain Panayiotis Tsakos of Tsakos Shipping & Trading. Representatives from the Ministry of Merchant Marine (John Tzoannos, Secretary-General) and the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping (George Gratsos, President) and the British Ambassador Simon Gass were also present. Lloyd’s Register participated through the presence David Moorhouse, Chairman; Robert Smart, Head of External Affairs; and Apostolos Poulovassilis, Area Manager for East Mediterranean and Black Sea Area.
