Naval shipbuilding bid

THE WA Government has gone into battle with the Commonwealth for a share of its $2 billion naval shipbuilding contract. The State Government has stepped-up its campaign to convince the Commonwealth that WA should play a major role in a $2 billion Australian Navy vessel contract. Science and Innovation Minister Francis Logan has joined unions, industry and local government to launch the ‘Logical Choice’ campaign at the Australian Marine Complex at Henderson. “The campaign aims to convince the Federal Government to build the two new naval vessels in Australia and to promote WA and the AMC as the logical choice to consolidate them,” Mr Logan said.
