Contract joy for booming shipyard

A BOOMING South Tyneside shipyard has clinched another contract, the Gazette can reveal.
The Skandi Neptune support offshore vessel will arrive at A&P Tyne in Hebburn later this month, creating work for dozens of men.
And there are hopes the borough yard will secure an even bigger order within the next fortnight.
About 2,000 workers are currently employed at the yard, including staff from McNulty Offshore in South Shields.
Fred Newman, managing director of A&P Tyne, said the latest contract will safeguard the jobs of up to 60 workers at Hebburn.
