LPG-laden ship stuck at Ratnagiri port

Mumbai/Ratnagiri, Sept. 17 (PTI): A ship carrying about 8,000 tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been stuck inside the Ratnagiri port in Maharashtra’s Konkan region, a senior Coast Guard official said today.

The middle of the ship Cuebride carrying Norwegian flag has been stuck in “soft mud” inside the harbour since September 14 and efforts are on to salvage the vessel, Coast Guard Western Region Commander A Rajashekhar told PTI.

“Two tugs have already left from Mumbai to salvage the vessel and will be reaching the spot by this evening and by tomorrow morning we can pull the ship to safety,” he said.
