Police board ferry in hunt to solve mystery of sailors’ deaths

FORENSIC officers last night boarded a passenger ferry as part of their investigation into the death of three crewmen whose yacht disappeared while crossing the Solent.

The bodies of James Meaby and Rupert Saunders, both 36, and Jason Downer, 35, were pulled from the Solent following a coastguard search last week.

The three men, from the London area, left Bembridge on the Isle of Wight on August 20 to sail to Devon for the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta.
