This vacancy is for our business stream Offshore Construction. We operate in the offshore energy and aquaculture sectors a complete construction service for a wide range of offshore structures. These include HVDC topsides, grillages, CALM buoys, floating wind foundations and fish farms. The primary build location off the construction is Damen Shipyards Mangalia in Romania. We are looking for a ‘seasoned’ Project Engineering Coordinator, with a ‘can-do’ mentality. The role of Project Engineering Coordinator involves active engagement with our customer, our engineering team, the yard and subcontractors. It includes mainly activities related to interfacing between the client’s design and the supply chain on the yard and risk management. This to ultimately achieve, with the project team, a successful integration of the client design in our supply chain. You are driven to make it happen, while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and safeguarding Damen interests. You coordinate the scope in an integral manner, balancing safe work, completion of the project and maximizing profit within a complex environment. We believe that as a Project Engineering Coordinator you should be where the action is, which means you move with the project abroad, together with the project team if necessary. As a Project Engineering Coordinator, you are responsible for (coordination of): • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications, as imposed by our customer and Damen OSV; • Securing the planning, execution and synchronization of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of the project team, thereby ensuring the proper integration; • Monitoring, controlling and reporting actual progress; • Development and optimization of build strategy; • Controlling Engineering activities on the project; • Engineering of temporary phases and facilities; • Subcontracting of engineering activities; • Identification of and follow up on technical interfaces; • Review and commenting on technical client deliverables; • Control the Technical Clarification process; • Initiate ideas to resolve technical issues; • Identify and timely communicate changes and deviations from the original bid and provide technical input to variation process; • Administration and distribution of technical documentation (document control); • As-built drawings; • Technical evaluation and lessons learned capturing for future projects; • Steer and motivate employees, contractors, and stakeholders. As a Project Engineering Coordinator, you should have: • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine/Maritime Technology or Naval Architecture, preferably with a dissertation in offshore engineering; • At least 5 years of Engineering Coordination experience in similar projects • Experience in working in an international organization; • Proven ability to oversee and handle a variety of aspects, disciplines and issues, regardless the nature (Technical, operational progress, Interfacing); • By nature, a professional and balanced attitude.
