Nexus Energy Chairman resigns

Don Voelte, Chairman and Non Executive Director of the Board at Australia’s Nexus Energy has resigned.

Voelte who is also CEO and Managing Director of Seven Group Holdings (SGH) has informed the board that given SGH’s strategic focus on opportunities in the oil and gas sector, his position on the board of Nexus is no longer appropriate.

Voelte served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Woodside Petroleum Ltd. from February 17, 2004 to May 30, 2011. Voelte has been the Non-Executive Chairman of Nexus Energy Limited since October 2012. He serves as a Director of Woodside Energy Ltd. He serves as a Director of ARCO Chemical Company. He has been a Director of Seven West Media Limited since December 11, 2008. He served as Director of Chroma Energy, Inc. He served as Director of Woodside Petroleum Ltd. from April 2004 to May 30, 2011. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska.

Trading Halt

In a separate statement Nexus said that its securities will be placed in Trading Halt Session State at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in Trading Halt Session State until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Thursday, 20 February, 2014 or when the announcement is released to the market.
