Gina Krog living quarters en route to field

Norwegian oil giant Statoil has posted an image via social media of living quarters set for the Gina Krog field in the North Sea, offshore Stavanger.

Statoil said on Tuesday that the module left Apply Leirvik on Sunday and that it is set to join its sister modules on the Gina Krog field.

Apply Leirvik was awarded the contract for the delivery of the Gina Krog LQ by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) back in 2013.

To remind, Statoil has shared a video of the modules for the Gina Krog topside sailing away from South Korea to Norway back in July. The modules sailed away from South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering’s shipyard and were expected to reach their destination in approx. 50 days.

The Gina Krog field is located 30 kilometers northwest of the Sleipner field and around 250 kilometers southwest of Stavanger, Norway. The development has an estimated 225 million barrels of oil and gas. Sanctioned in 2013, the Gina Krog development is expected to start producing oil and gas in early 2017.
