DOF said on Wednesday that oil and gas company Point Resources hired the company’s Skandi Kvitsøy PSV.

According to the shipping company, the contract for the vessel is for one year with options for up to two years. The company added that the vessel would begin operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in early November.

Norwegian shipbrokers Westshore have said that vessel would support drilling at the Ringhorne platform.

The last time Offshore Energy Today reported on a contract awarded to the Skandi Kvitsøy was back in May 2018 when the vessel was awarded a contract by Chevron North Sea.

The contract was for 140 days which started in June 2018 in support of drilling operations in the North Sea.

As for the vessel, Skandi Kvitsøy, built in 2012, is part of a new range of platform supply vessel (PSV) designs incorporating the new STX bow.
