The company said on September 9 that it entered into a fixed-rate time charter agreement for the 2010-built vessel with Singapore-based shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE).

The time charter will be for a term of 36 months with an option for up to an additional four months.

The vessel acquisition is the first one announced by the company since it closed a new USD 1 billion portfolio financing program in May this year. Providing Seaspan with the flexibility to add, substitute and remove vessels, the program will initially consist of a portfolio of 36 vessels.

Seaspan expects to take delivery of the vessel by the end of April 2020, expanding its fleet to 113 vessels.
