For the first time in its history, APM Terminals’ container terminal in Tangier, Morocco, used all eight Super-post-Panamax cranes on one vessel simultaneously on October 5.

The terminal worked for 27 consecutive hours to perform 7,072 moves on the 10,000 TEU container ship Seaspan Elbe, APM Terminals announced through its social media.

The 2015-built Seaspan Elbe features a length of 337 meters and a width of 48 meters.

Owned and operated by APM Terminals in partnership with the Moroccan Akwa Group, the container terminal was opened in July 2007. The terminal’s throughput is 1.8 million TEUs per annum.

Situated within the Strait of Gibraltar, the world’s busiest sea lane, APM Terminals Tangier links the Mediterranean, the Americas and North and West Africa.
