Aasta Hansteen: Norway Step Closer to Its First Deepwater Project

Norway’s Statoil has today submitted the plan for development and operation (PDO) of the Aasta Hansteen field to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. Furthermore Statoil and the Polarled Development Project partners have submitted the plan for installation and operation (PIO).

Exxon Mobil to Develop Hebron Field Offshore Canada

Exxon Mobil Corporation has announced it will develop the Hebron oil field offshore the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador using a gravity-based structure that will recover more than 700 million barrels of oil, an increase versus earlier estimates.

Unified Command, including Coast Guard, Shell and other partners, has confirmed that the Kulluk, towed by the anchor handling vessel Aiviq, has arrived in its final safe harbor location in Kiliuda Bay.

 

CB&I Bags $250 Million Mariner Topsides Design Contract

CB&I has been awarded a project valued in excess of US$250 million by Daewoo Ship building & Marine Engineering Co, Ltd. (DSME).  CB&I’s scope of work, which will commence in the first quarter, includes detailed engineering design services for the Mariner Topsides project that is part of the Mariner oil field development project in the UK.
