The World’s Fastest Ship Christened by Argentina’s President

On October 1, 2013 in Buenos Aires the President of Argentina, Christina Fernandez de Kirchner became the “Godmother” to a vessel built in Australia. Named Francisco in honour of the Argentine born Pope, the 99 metre World’s Fastest Ship, and the first large dual fuel high speed Ro-Ro to use LNG as its primary fuel, was built in Hobart by Incat Tasmania Pty Ltd and delivered recently to South American company Buquebus.

FSG Delivers Largest Canadian Flag ConRo Ship

The largest Canadian Flag Con/Ro ship set sail yesterday from Flensburg, Germany destined for St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Following a series of successful sea trials, Oceanex Inc. accepted delivery of the vessel on Friday as originally scheduled.

Keppel O&M Bags USD 440 Mil Worth Jack-Up Order

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has secured a contract from an affiliate of Clearwater Capital Partners (Clearwater) to build a pair of premium KFELS B Class jackup rigs. The total cost of the project is about US$440 million, which also includes owner furnished equipment and project management fees.
