UK: Inocean to Assist Statoil in Concept Study for Bressay Field Development

Inocean will be assisting Statoil in a concept study for the development of the Bressay Field in the UK sector of the North Sea, west of Norway’s Frigg Field.

Statoil acquired operatorship of the Bressay and the neighboring field Mariner in 2007 as a link in its involvement with offshore heavy oil. Since then, test drillings, reservoir simulations and evaluations of various exploitation methods have been conducted to assess the viability of heavy oil production at the two fields.

A possible concept as part of the Bressay field development is an FPSO. With this in mind Inocean has been asked by Statoil to contribute with its competence in FPSOs in order to mature, optimize and document such a concept, in order to support Statoil in their forthcoming decision process – that could lead to the use of an FPSO for Bressay.

Inocean has carried out more than 20 FPSO projects since it was founded in 1996 and is a leading player in this market.
