Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) is Europe's leading offshore energy event. It is unique in bringing together the oil and gas, offshore wind and marine energy industry. On October 23 and 24 OEEC offers a program stream for students, starters and Young Professionals. The Young Professional Hub (stand 2.300 B) is a physical place and meeting point on the exhibition floor and can be found in Hall 2. Besides the program in the Hub, Master Classes are also offered to Young Professionals.

Other items in the program for YPs include the yearly Young IRO Event, Young Professionals in the Spotlight at Community Square and the OE Young Engineer Award. Moreover, visitors that register as students receive a reduced rate for the Offshore Energy Conference sessions.

An impression of OEEC 2017:

23 and 24 October, Conference Area Hall 3 | The Master Classes bring together masters and young talents in the offshore oil, gas and energy industry for an informal exchange of ideas and experiences, both technical and non-technical. The Master Classes are meant for final year students, starters and young professionals (<6 years work experience, <35 years old, min. Bachelor degree.)

This year the Master Classes focus on the possibilities of digital technology. The masters are two inspiring young men:

Description of the Master Classes:

Master Class Simon Kennedy - eVision - Tuesday 23 October 9:00-11:00

Exploring new markets for digital technologies

eVision has revolutionized ‘permit-to-work’ procedures by using digital solutions. eVision counts all the major oil and gas companies among its clients. In this Master Class, Simon Kennedy, COO, eVision will challenge participants to think of how eVision can prepare for the energy transition and to consider new ways to use digital technologies. What new energy markets should eVision enter and what new forms of collaboration can we seek? What new digital solutions can we think of?

Master Class Joost Lasschuit - Rolloos - Wednesday 24 October 9:00 - 11:00

Offshore Red Zone Monitoring: Turning technology into a service

An offshore drilling rig can be a dangerous place to operate. Heavy equipment is moving around, but people are still required to perform specific jobs in the same area, so-called red zones. The industry-wide goal to minimize risk and increase situational awareness of crews challenges system integrators like Rolloos to come up with both technologically and operationally sound solutions that contribute to the safety of the workers on the rig. Rolloos is introducing a Red Zone Monitoring solution, an advanced video analytics driven platform to inform crews about the human activity in specific dynamic red zones. As a third-generation family business we have extensive experience in engineering and implementing CCTV systems world-wide. With the Red Zone Monitoring platform we need to also offer the required consultancy and support models to provide the platform as a service. During the Master Class we will engage participants in which business strategy – both commercially and operationally – we should choose.

Challenge prize offered by:

23 and 24 october, YP Hub Hall 2 | What do you expect from your manager, from your employer, from your part of the industry? Do you have an idea that will help you develop as a person or as a professional, or an idea that will keep you in your current company for longer than you may think now? Is there anything you find a bit "old- fashioned" that you would do differently if it were up to you? And how does sustainable energy come into play?

Navingo launches the Well of Fortune Challenge to uncover ideas on how to make organizations millennial proof. YPs can submit their ideas in the Well of Fortune on Tuesday and Wednesday. After Offshore Energy the best idea will be chosen and, after consultation with the idea owner, publicly presented. The winner will be offered a personal development training of their choice, plus a special prize for their colleagues/team. Prizes are offered by Krauthammer.

23 and 24 october, YP Hub Hall 2 | A creative meet & greet between YPs (<35 years old) in the offshore energy industry to expand their network and exchange ideas. The current and upcoming industry challenges require committed professionals who are up for these challenges for the long term.

An unexpected encounter with someone can create a pebble effect: new insights can impact a way of thinking, the industry and the environment. The sessions will consist of several rounds in which relevant themes are informally discussed with your fellow YPs. There are no costs associated with these sessions. Pre-event registration is applicable, on-site registration space is limited.

By registering for 'Meet your Peers', you will be kept up to date on further details of the sessions.

23 and 24 october, YP Hub Hall 2 I Students, starters and young professionals have different expectations about work than the generations before them. It's more than just a way of earning an income. What is important to you? Come talk to us about your skills and current career path, and we will challenge you to think about ambitions, motivation, the impact on your work-life balance and the possibilities in the sector.
