Subsea 7 Inc , one of the world’s leading subsea engineering and construction companies, today announced the establishment of a new Asia Pacific office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the appointment of 2 of its senior personnel to its Asia Pacific region.
The Kuala Lumpur office will initially house 32 Subsea 7 personnel, including the Regional Management Team, with space to expand as the company positions itself for future growth in the Asia Pacific region.
The new office, Malaysia’s first Green building (BCA Gold Greenmark), is strategically located at the G Tower in Kuala Lumpur City Centre which is at the heart of the international oil and gas sector in Malaysia. Subsea 7 will maintain project management and engineering capabilities in Singapore and Perth, in addition to the planned expansion of the Kuala Lumpur office, thus providing three centres to support project execution in what is a geographically diverse and expansive oil and gas region.
The two appointments include Dick Martin as the Vice President of Business Development for the Asia Pacific region, based in Perth, and Stuart Cameron as the Commercial Director for the Asia Pacific region, based in Kuala Lumpur.
Dick, who has already commenced his new role, was previously Vice President for Life-of-Field services based in the company’s Aberdeen office. He has 30 years operational and business experience with the company, in various parts of the world. Stuart Cameron, currently Commercial Director of the North America region, will commence his new role in mid-June.

The appointment of Dick and Stuart, with their invaluable experience of operations and business acquisition, along with the addition of opening our new office in Kuala Lumpur, will play a key role as we build upon our recent successes. Today’s announcement represents a significant step towards expanding our presence across Asia Pacific as we work towards our vision of becoming the Subsea Partner of Choice in the region.”
In addition, the company has also announced that another of its vessel fleet, the Skandi Seven pipelay and construction vessel, will join the Rockwater 2 diving support vessel to support operations in the Asia Pacific region. The company’s Seven Navica pipelay vessel was also utilised on the recent Santos Casino-Henry project, offshore Australia.

“The Skandi Seven will be the third vessel from Subsea 7’s worldwide fleet to visit the Asia Pacific region since the fourth quarter of 2009. We look forward to welcoming her to the region and to execute the work safely and efficiently.”
