The Bergen based company AllMaritim AS, has in co-operation with one of its main partners, NOFI Tromsø AS, entered into an agreement with BP USA for delivery of the reputable NOFI Buster technology. The systems will be implemented in the ongoing Gulf of Mexico oil spill response. In addition both companies are sending personnel to cover training and operational assistance.
The contract comprises delivery of:
– 2 NOFI Ocean Buster
– 2 NOFI Current Buster
– 4 NOFI Harbour Buster
A number of Busters have already been deployed, and they, in a generally challenging oil spill response, make a difference.
The NOFI Buster technology is today recognized as the most efficient oil boom system in the market, with its unique capabilities of collecting and concentrating oil at higher towing speeds or in current exposed waters. Today’s conventional oil booms are having clear restrictions in terms of speed through water as oil will start to escape underneath the oil boom when exceeding approx. 1 knot.
The “Busters” have been on the market since 1999 and are today applied by several response organizations, oil companies, governmental authorities, navies and coast guards world-wide.
AllMaritim has gained a wide experience as supplier of oil spill response equipment since it was founded in 1988. Their main office is in Bergen and currently holds a staff of 7 employees; the company turnover is approx. 60 million NOK, of which 70% is from export. AllMaritim has over the years turned to be a market leader within the field of environmental – and contingency products of high quality, for the industrial and marine environment.
