Frode Sollid has been appointed design manager for offshore support vessels at Ulstein Design & Solutions in Norway.
In addition to designing offshore support vessels, the design department delivers design services to Ulstein Group’ s more recent initiatives, such as heavy offshore and short sea shipping segment efforts. The group also provides expertise in hydrodynamics, and in the electrical, mechanical, stability and structure areas.
Frode Sollid is an electronics and automation enginner. He started at the Ulstein Group as a senior designer/co-ordinator in the electrical engineering department at Ulstein Verft in 1989.
“Frode Sollid has extensive academic background combined with long experience, and is highly qualified for the job heading this design area,” said Tore Ulstein, Ulstein Group’s deputy CEO.
