Ian Tombs has been appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate Compliance at Inchcape Shipping Services.

With a background in Mechanical Engineering, his work was for many years focused on the design, manufacture, installation and recovery of submarine communication cable systems. He brings considerable operational and management experience in Risk, Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental processes as well as project management, gained in both commercial and defence environments across the globe.

CEO Capt. Claus Hyldager commented on the appointment: “At Inchcape Shipping Services we are committed to manage our business responsibly and in compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements of the countries in which we operate. To achieve a focused and more visible approach to this key requirement, we have brought together our Regional Quality Managers, the Risk Manager, our internal Financial Auditors, and the ISS Marine Academy. Ian will head up this department to ensure we deliver this requirement to our customers in the most effective way.”
