RasGas Engineers Lead the Way (Qatar)

At an official ceremony in Schenectady, New York, a select group of Qatari Operations, Technical and Maintenance Engineers from RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) graduated from GE’s Field Engineering Gas Turbine Training Programme.

Speaking on behalf of RasGas, Hamad Mubarak Al-Muhannadi, RasGas’ Operations Group Manager said: “It is with great pride to see our young Qatari engineers receiving their certificates from GE’s Energy Learning Center. We recognise that people are behind our success, we’re committed to providing the world-class training they need to fully optimise their skills and potential. Our long and strong relationship with GE has been essential to develop such a high quality programme that was specifically tailored to our engineers’ and RasGas’ needs.”

The 10-week training course at GE’s Energy Learning Center (ELC) was designed to enhance RasGas’ engineers with the technical skills to support the highly reliable operations of the World’s largest liquefied natural gas facility in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Engineers who graduated from the course explained that the programme offered a wide scope of training including, basics of standard industry practices, and gas turbine operation and maintenance. Speaking on behalf of his fellow graduates Salman Al-Khater said: “We found the GE field engineering programme to be very beneficial to us by enriching our leadership, teamwork, and technical skills. These key skills are very important for both our personal career and to further our company’s business growth. Performance monitoring of the equipment and quality assurance during maintenance inspections are of high importance to the company, and it is these technical skills that will aid in satisfying those business needs.”

He added: “It’s evident to us that RasGas strives to provide customised learning opportunities for their employees to enhance their professional development. On behalf of all the graduates I would like to thank RasGas for giving us such an opportunity.”

The following RasGas employees attended and successfully completed the training: Abdulhadi Al-Marri, Ahmad Badar, Fahad Al-Abduljabar, Fahad Al-Adsani, Fahad Al-Anzi, Fahad Al-Rashid, Hassan Al-Emadi, Ibrahim Abdulla, Jamal Al-Kaldi, Khalid Al-Qebaisi, Mohamed Al-Sherawi, Mohammad Al-Mansoori, MohammadAmin Khaledi, Nouf Al-Suwaidi, Rashid Al-Marri, Salman Al-Khater.

Joseph Anis, GE Energy’s President for the Middle East, congratulated the RasGas students on their successful graduation from the rigorous Field Engineering Gas Turbine Training Programme. He added: “This tailored training programme reflects the strong relationship, forged over many years, between RasGas and GE, and further attests to our commitment to support Qatar and the region’s efforts towards promoting a sustainable environment.”
