In 2011 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred 319 mln. rubles for the implementation of port infrastructure development programme.

Main part of the funds was transferred for the renovation of the fleet of handling equipment. In particular 9 lift-trucks “Kalmar” with the lifting capacity from 10 up to 33 tons for handling of general cargoes, terminal tractor for the transportation of cargoes on roll-trailers with the weight up to 32 tons and 40’ roll-trailer with the lifting capacity of 70 tons were delivered last year.

FSUE Rosmorport is set to begin dredging at Port of St. Petersburg outer harbor in 2012, as part of the firs phase of the marine terminal project.

As Rosmorport’s North-West branch CEO Sergey Pylin said, the federal enterprise also plans to begin dredging in 2013 for another outer harbor project to be based in the area of Litke (Kronstadt).

2 mobile rubber-tyred Liebherr cranes LHM 600, suitable for handling of cargoes with the weight up to 140 tons were also delivered to the berths of the company.

New equipment will allow to increase the intensity of handling of cargoes and to decrease the expenses for maintenance and renovation of handling equipment.

Besides, starting from the beginning of 2011 works on reconstruction of railway tracks and facilities for smooth running of trains have been carried at the first and second cargo areas of the port. It is planned that all these measures will allow to increase the throughput capacity of the terminals for handling of metals up to 500 thousand tons per month.
