The last part of Iranian section of gas pipeline that is planned to transfer Iran’s gas to Pakistan will reach border area in less than a year, said Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister and managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Javad Owji.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress of construction work, he predicted construction of the pipeline would be completed ahead of schedule, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

He also referred to allocation of 3.500 billion rials credits to the pipeline, which will provide enough money for completion of the pipeline in Iran territory.

According to this report, Pakistan will construct a 700km-long pipeline from its border while Iran would build a 300km long stretch of the pipeline from Iranshahr to the Pakistani border.

Under a contract between the two countries, Iran will export annually 7.8 billion cubic meters of gas to the neighboring country as of March 2014.
