At midday on Friday 19th October the final transition piece was installed at London Array – marking the completion of the installation of all of the project’s 177 foundations.
Richard Rigg, Project Director at London Array said: “The installation of the final foundation at London Array is a significant achievement for everyone involved in the project. With all foundations and export cables now installed, nearly all of the array cables and over two thirds of the turbines installed, construction is on track to be completed by the end of the year.”
The first foundation was installed in March 2011 by A2 Sea’s Sea Worker and the final transition piece was installed by the SeaJack.
