BLRT Grupp´s Turku shipyard has finished the repairs of oil tanker SCF Baltica. The specialists of ship-repair yard have dismantled machined, assembled back and balanced the shaft line and propeller (weight 35 tons) of the vessel.

Also, main propulsion unit (B&W 7S60ME-C 16660 KW, 105 rpm, weight approximately 500 tons) was again aligned with shaft line, using Chockfast orange.

Specialists of Turku Repair Yard have done similar vessel repair works before. Among others SCF Baltica was the first tanker of Aframax size.

The tanker SCF Baltica is operated by Russian company Sovkomflot, which is world’s second largest operator of Aframax size vessels.

Turku Repair Yard was founded in 1989, and since 2007, the company works as part of BLRT Grupp. The shipyard provides repair services in the dry dock (265×70 m) in Naantali which can receive Aframax-size vessels. Vessels up to 100 m are repaired in the floating dock. Moreover, the company has a crew able to perform repair works on operating vessels.
