Atlantic Offshore, a Norwegian owner of offshore support vessels is expanding its fleet with another Emergency Response Rescue Vessel.

Based upon a new contract awarded by Shell UK, the company has decided to build yet another HY 820 Field Support Vessel designed in collaboration with Havyard. The newbuilding will be completed in 2015 and will operate for Shell UK at the Fram field in the North Sea.

“We have been close partners for many years, and consider it as a vote of confidence that Shell choose to expand the cooperation,” says Roy Wareberg , CEO of the company.

The new ship will be the third HY 820 vessel ordered. Two similar vessels are currently under construction at the Spanish shipyard Astilleros Zamakona in San Sebastian.
