The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a Maintenance Dredging project located in Wells Harbor, Maine.

The project is planned to be issued on or about June 2013. The construction will occur in the fall and winter of 2013-14 and is expected to take several months.

The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.

The work of this project consists of hydraulically dredging the Federal Navigation Project, which consists of an 8-ft entrance channel, 6-ft inner harbor channel, an approximately 8-foot-deep settling basin between the jetties, and a 6-ft anchorage in the inner harbor.

About 130,000 c.y. of predominantly sandy sediment will be dredged by hydraulic cutterhead pipeline dredge. The sand will be used as beach renourishment and will be pumped about 1 mile south to Wells Beach and 1 mile north to Drakes Island Beach (2 areas).

Anticipated work window is September 15, 2013 to March 31, 2014.
