Talisman is the operator of production licence 299 in block 2/1 in the North Sea off Norway. The consent relates to drilling of exploration well 2/1-16 S in a prospect called Frode.
The rig was built in Japan at Hitachi, completed in 1986. Mærsk Giant can operate in water depths of up to 107 metres and can accommodate 87 people.
