The 40th tripod foundation was installed at the Global Tech I wind farm in the North Sea yesterday, thus marking the completion of the first installation stage, achieved after 14 trips to the construction site.
Arjen Schampers , Technical Director of Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH said: “We are very proud of the INNOVATION offshore team. Together with HOCHTIEF Solutions, we were able to demonstrate that the technology works well and that we can install foundations in water depth of 40 meters . This is a great achievement . “
The project will move forward with the transfer of another three foundations from Nordseewerke facilities and will be installed immediately afterwards . They w ill be picked up by the pontoon “ Louis” at Emden-based Nordseewerke and towed for handling at the ABC’s peninsula in Bremerhaven.
The loading of three 900 -ton foundations and nine piles on the jack-up vessel INNOVATION runs very fast and will be completed in maximum of 1.5 days.
