Following the ‘offshore world premiere’ of the V112-3.0MW from Vestas when it was installed in May at the Swedish Kårehamn site, 72 V112s are now to be installed in Belgium at the Northwind site.
The installation will begin over the summer and the site is expected to be in commission next year. The development of the two sites Kårehamn and Northwind can be followed on the free Offshore Wind Farms Map at LORC Knowledge.
Lately the offshore map has also been updated with news of the Belwind 2 demonstration site, where the first ever offshore installation of the 6 MW Haliade 150 from Alstrom is taking place. The German site EnBW Baltic with 80 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines has begun production of its substation and if everything goes to plan the site to be installed on jacket and monopile substructures will be commissioned by 2014.
