TAQA, the global energy company based in Abu Dhabi, yesterday announced that Pete Jones has formally joined TAQA to succeed Leo Koot as managing director of TAQA’s UK oil and gas business.
Jones joins TAQA from Marathon Oil Corp. where he held the position of Regional Vice president – Wyoming. During his career at Marathon, he also held various roles including Managing Director – UK, responsible for the company’s UK operations which included the Brae field and Devenick tieback. Mr Jones has a Master’s Degree in Operations Research (Eng) from the University of Birmingham and is a British national.
He comments: “TAQA has probably one of the best portfolios in the UK and there are great opportunities in exploration and development, the acquisition environment and asset development.”
Koot has been appointed Managing Director of TAQA in Iraq and will be responsible for all of TAQA’s operations in Iraq.
