Hyundai Heavy Industries has delivered to Hamburg Süd the second of the new “Cap San” class, the 9,669 teu container vessel “CAP SAN MARCO”.

With a nominal slot capacity of 9,600 TEU, the vessel is among Hamburg Süd’s largest-ever and, with 2,100 reefer plugs, the ship with the largest reefer capacity worldwide at present.

The “Cap San Marco” is to be deployed into the shipping group’s liner service between Asia and South America East Coast.

Two more “Cap San” ships will be delivered from the Korean yard in the current year and two units are due to be handed over to Hamburg Süd in January 2014.
