Wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy Limited has cashed in a total of CAD 659,321 in grant payments as they received CAD 334,882 from the Australian Government for the completion of CETO Unit Milestone 7a of the Perth Wave Energy Project.

This follows the payment of CAD 324,439 received from the Western Australian State Government under the LEED Grant.

Perth Wave Energy Project will be the first demonstration of a complete grid-connected, commercial scale CETO system anywhere in the world. The project will also deliver Carnegie its first power revenues through the sale of green electricity to the Department of Defence for HMAS Stirling located on Garden Island. The project is forecast for commissioning in the first quarter of 2014.
