DP Vessel ‘Fugro Commander’ and the jack-up ‘Excalibur’ are both back on Walney offshore wind farms site after the recent poor weather.
‘Excalibur’ is accompanied by the support tug ‘MTS Valiant’, and an additional DP Vessel ‘MV Gargano’ is expected to arrive on site, according to KIS-ORCA.
This marks the beginning of further development of the Walney offshore wind farms. Dong Energy’s application for a Development Consent Order (DCO) has been accepted by the Planning Inspectorate in July, and the project is now in the examination period.
On 11 th May 2010, the Crown Estate awarded DONG Energy an Agreement for Lease to develop an extension to the existing Walney 1 and 2 offshore wind farms, known as the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm.
