Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd, China has hosted a naming for a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), ordered by OAO Novoship, which will now bear the name the SCF Shanghai. The ship is built under the survey of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).
SCF Shanghai is the second ship in the series. The lead ship Svet was commissioned on 17 November 2013. The series is built to the dual RS/DNV class. VLCC ships are the largest in the fleet of the Sovcomflot Group.
