‘Dalby Swale’, the new wind farm support vessel, is preparing for its first assignment on the Greater Gabbard wind farm.

In final acceptance trials yesterday the vessel achieved 34 knots top speed with noise level at under 60 db in the accommodation.

‘Dalby Swale’, the new 23m vessel built by Alicat, was delivered at the Seaworks Exhibition last month.

The 500MW wind farm is located 23 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk in England capable of producing enough renewable energy to supply around 530,000 homes each year.

Comprising 140 wind turbines, the project value amounted to £1.6 billion.
