Offshore WIND’s photo of the day: Van Oord’s first transport and installation vessel for the construction of offshore wind farms, Aeolus, jacked up.

The vessel is currently conducting testing of the jacking in the North Sea off the coast of Zandvoort.

Mrs K. Aboutaleb-Erahoutan, wife of the Mayor of Rotterdam named the vessel last month during the two-day ceremony.

The vessel’s first project will be the construction of the Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm for the Eneco-Mitsubishi joint venture.

As EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor Van Oord is responsible for the monopiles, the electrical infrastructure, the offshore transformer station and the installation of turbines.
