China’s Guangdong Dapeng terminal reached a milestone when the 147,000 cbm Dapeng Moon unloaded the 600th cargo at the import facility on October 15.
According to a statement by Guangdong Dapeng LNG, 600 cargoes over the period of eight years amounts to more than 40 million tons of LNG.
As China’s first LNG import pilot project Dapeng LNG almost doubled its annual turnover capacity from 3.7 million tons at the early stage of operation to 6.8 tons.
Statistical data reveals that, in 2013 Dapeng LNG contributed to 33% of China’s imported LNG, or 17 million tons.
