Songa Offshore has reported that its semi-submersible drilling rig Songa Dee is waiting for the weather to improve to continue its work for Statoil in the North Sea.

Songa Dee is currently located at the coast of Norway. Once the weather conditions are improved, the rig will move to drilling location at the Gullfaks field to continue its work under the Statoil contract. The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway recently gave its consent to Statoil to use the semi-submersible drilling rig Songa Dee for production drilling on Gullfaks satellites.

Songa Dee completed its SPS (Special Periodic Survey) in Invergordon Scotland and left the yard November 16. It has since then finalized the repair and installation of one of the main engines and has performed incline- and verification testing.

Furthermore, Songa Offshore reported that Songa Delta achieved an operational efficiency of 100% and an earnings efficiency of 99% working for Statoil in Norway.

The company also adds that Songa Trym achieved an operational efficiency of 100% and an earnings efficiency of 99% for the operational part of the month working for Statoil in Norway. The rig was suspended November 20, as it was ahead of the planned schedule for its scope of work, and the rig is on a 75% suspension rate. Songa Trym is currently suspended until February 1, 2015, but the extension period may be reduced, or avoided, if acceleration of activities is achieved by the client Statoil.
