Spanish oil company Repsol is in talks to buy Canada’s Talisman Energy, Bloomberg has reported.
According to Bloomberg , which quoted people with knowledge of the matter, Repsol is interested in either to acquire some of Talisman’s assets or to takeover the whole company.
As a response to media speculation, Talisman has issued a statement confirming it has been approached by a number of different parties, including Repsol, with regards to various transactions.
“There is no assurance that any transaction will be agreed. Until such time as it is appropriate to make a public announcement on any potential transaction, Talisman does not intend to make any further comment on this matter,” Talisman said in a statement.
