Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions Ltd. (GDG), an Irish based engineering company, has completed the first phase of the foundation testing for OpenHydro tidal turbine project.
GDG has completed stage 1 of foundation testing for a tidal turbine project, exploring the interaction of the structure’s vertical self-weight and the horizontal environmental loading in order to optimize the turbine sub-base design.
Stage 1 included site selection, geotechnical investigations, ground interpretation, foundation design and installation, foundation testing methodology and data analysis.
GDG is a company that provides engineering services to the international market, including concept design, detailed design, in-situ monitoring and general geotechnical advice.
