The device is currently being assembled at Niron Staal Amsterdam B.V., a specialized steel construction and machining company located in the port of Amsterdam.
BlueTec tidal platform will be the first floating tidal platform to power Dutch households.
The platform is a part of Texel project, a collaborative effort of 12 Dutch companies, including Bluewater, Damen, Van Oord/Acta Marine, Tocardo, TKF, Vryhof, NIOZ, Nylacast and Tidal Test Centre.
The floating platform will be deployed off Texel island on April 9, 2015.
