The UK’s Isle of Grain LNG import terminal, operated by National Grid, is about to test its reloading capabilities.

Grain LNG recently said it plans to offer the possibility of small scale ship reloading at the terminal on the Isle of Grain to new or existing customers and have launched an open season to measure interest.

“ On March 26 we will be testing our reloading capabilities by loading a quantity of LNG onto the Asia Vision LNG tanker ,” Rebecca Watson, National Grid’s press officer, told LNG World News in an emailed statement.

The 160,000 cbm vessel is sailing from Spain, according to shipping data.

Re-exportation of LNG lets marketers and suppliers store gas, while waiting for price signals before delivering their LNG to the higher-paying markets.
